Which fast food giant will win? Keep reading to find out my picks.

Although, I don’t like to admit it, I have fast food that I have actually greatly enjoyed. But, of course, there are those fast food meals I want to forget as fast as possible.

For the sake of this post and my sanity, I am going to just talk about four of the most popular fast food items these days; burgers, chicken nuggets, french fries, and, recently, salad. So, before one of these places puts bacon on every single item on the menu in a desperate attempt to lure customers, I’m going to try to set the record straight.

Burgers: My pick for the best burger is Wendy’s. Their burgers claim to be “fresh and never frozen” and “way better than fast food.” I would agree. I usually get their classic single burger with cheese. The square patties are very old fashioned and tasty. They have a good mix of toppings, except I could do without the entire head of iceburg lettuce that they put on top. Burger King does a good job with their Whopper. Although it is usually thrown together and messy, it’s not bad. Then there’s McDonald’s and the infamous Big Mac. There is scan0003.jpgreally nothing “big” about this burger except that it stands unnecessarily high. It is probably the lightest of the bunch and the least satisfying. The special sauce is nice, but I’ve found that ketchup and mayonnaise gives the same effect.

Chicken Nuggets: McDonald’s is my choice for chicken nuggets. Their “all white meat” chicken nuggets are crispy, crunchy, and moist. I love dipping them in sweet and sour sauce. Wendy’s nuggets are almost identical to McDonald’s, but they sometimes have a hard coating or an aftertaste. Burger King’s chicken nuggets taste more like chicken cutlets to me.

French Fries: French fries can make or break a fast food restaurant. McDonald’s has the best french fries, hands down. Their fries are thin, always crispy, hot and delicious dipped in ketchup. At Burger King, go with the onion rings instead. Wendy’s fries are always too thick, squishy, and greasy.

Salad: If you want to eat healthy, why are you going to a fast scan00041.jpgfood place? Although I don’t agree with fast food salads, I will say that McDonald’s makes a really good asian chicken salad. Almost makes me not miss the fries….almost.

So, I would say that McDonalds is the winner! They have the best chicken nuggets, french fries and salads and their burgers are nothing to complain about either.
